[attr="class","likedotitle2"]WELCOME TO THE BATTLEGROUNDS!
[attr="class","likedoinfo"]
When composing a challenge ad, make sure to place the thread in the "Challenge Board" for sake of organization! The template to use when creating and replying to a challenge will be provided within the very last post of this thread.
This rule should more or less be common sense, but we'll state it just for safety purposes. As an individual, you can only only bet any amount of Vhan that is within your current budget. Should you yourself bet anything over whatever available Vhan that you have in your wallet, your challenge ad will not be approved by an admin until that issue is properly fixed.
This is more or less to ensure a reasonable profit, as well as somewhat of a base gamble on all sides of the supposed sparring individuals. The base Vhan bets are subject to change at any time.
You can't accept a challenge without offering some sort of gamble of your own. By accepting a challenge, you also agree to offer at least 50 Vhan of your own into the betting pool. After all, any challenge maker would feel somewhat overwhelmed after an intense match if they found out that they only broke even- and they'd possibly even feel cheated if they lost everything, while their challenger quite literally lost nothing.
Now, we normally don't have to worry about this for one-on-one duals, since those are relatively simple. When fights begin to accommodate for three or more people, however, then things could possibly get hectic. To ensure that people don't get left behind, dragged into a fight that they had second thoughts about, or anything else of that sort, make sure that all participants give the affirmative, and that the will to spar is unanimous among all of the participants.
(I only state this because I've fallen victim to not being able to respond to a thread for a day or two, and finding out that I was either completely cut out, or that my turn was just skipped over and/or neglected by the time I was back. This rule is more or less to put people on the same page out of safety and consideration~.)
When all members of a challenge agree to a spar, and when all bets are made, the original challenge maker is to make a final post of their own within the thread, tagging either Zealous or iDraekios to state that all bets and members are official. One of these admins will proceed to respond to the thread to approve the challenge; tagging each of the involved members to let them know of the challenge approval before relocating the thread to the proper forum, where it will then be locked down and unable to be replied to or edited by other members.
This is to ensure that participants don't go changing the amount that they bet if they find themselves in a bind within the legitimate sparring thread. In the event that a challenge thread is unable to be completed due to inactivity, don't fret about the Vhan that you've put on the line! No Vhan will be taken from any accounts until the sparring thread itself is concluded with a victor, and when staff is appropriately notified.
Maybe the challenge is a two-on-two? Maybe it's a one-on-two? What about a free-for-all among several members?
The number of participants is up to the challenge creator, but again- just make sure that everyone's on the same page by the time you begin your sparring thread. Communicate, folks~! If details still needed to be sorted out, always communicate with the other members!
One character. One spar. Once a month. Each member involved in a challenge is only enabled to use a single character of their own in a fight for sake of simplicity, and they can only participate in a Battlegrounds thread once per month. This is a means of regulation that ensures members don't go bankrupt by specific challengers, and to enforce the general Roleplaying boards as the primary means of earning Vhan.
Take note that Battlegrounds entries will not be refunded in the event that the sparring thread goes inactive, however. This is why communication greatly stressed! If your participation goes to a thread that becomes inactive, you will not get a new entry permit into the Battlegrounds until a month afterwards!
Alongside this, in the event that a new month rolls over while an existing sparring thread that you are involved in is still active and ongoing, you will not be permitted to join or create another challenge ad until your activity within the aforementioned thread is finished. Once that thread is concluded, you're free to immediately join or create a new challenge.
For the most part, Battlegrounds threads will most likely be non-canon threads, but if it just so happens that both parties agree for the matter to be canon, then by all means, go ahead and make it as such! Just know that, for canon interactions, the characters must have a logical and reasonable explanation. They can't be two different characters from both the Revolution and Phenomenon looking to have a friendly little spar. Maybe if it's a chance skirmish, and one person is fighting to get away from the other, then sure- that would be reasonable. ...Because honestly, at least one of them would probably be trying to kill or capture. Probably.
Alongside this, canon sparring threads will also be death enabled, which puts your characters at risk for permanent death in the event that your character is slain. ...Obviously. If you want to keep matters canon for plot purposes, but don't want your character to die, then you can always arrange alternative ways for the fight to end, and for a victor to be declared. One character could flee the scene after a small chase. Maybe they could even be captured and taken away, in the event that it was a Phenomenon member against a runaway. Something along those lines~.
So, you're a fighter, are ya? Well, we welcome all - fighters, stragglers, and everything beyond - here to the Battlegrounds! Here, players will be able to take a leap of faith while gambling with their Vhan. Spar against one another while setting your own bets out, and in the end, the Vhan that was bet by the participants will go to the victor of the match before being sorted to the proper archival forum.
Now, everyone loves a good money grabbing opportunity, and again- the Battlegrounds welcomes all who are willing to lend their skills for our entertainment! However, there's always guidelines that need to be followed, so without further ado, let's get started to the Rules of the Battlegrounds!
