[attr="class","likedoinfo"]Here on Chaotic Phenomenon, we offer a total of three - or four, if you'd like to count the factionless - groups that characters are capable of joining upon creation. Each faction hosts their own role within the forum, alongside primarily representing one of the alignments that will be better described later on in this thread. One faction switch per character is able to be purchased, and characters are not allowed to be apart of two factions at once at any given time.
Each faction also has their own perks, so look into that, too!
Composed mostly of runaway Experimentals that host a fighting spirit against the Phenomenon, alongside a need for change from the lifestyle that the Phenomenon had forced the world into; the Revolution is led by Matthew Aaron Sanctum, as well as his brother, Jonathan Sanctum. Members of the Revolution treat one another as a family; caring for one another, regardless of age, gender, background, or otherwise. Those within this faction often come from differing backgrounds, thus making them rather versatile within various services and crafts. They are known for eventually wanting to fight for their freedom in due time, and often aren't afraid to aid those in the streets whenever needed. These faction members hold a good heart; be it born and unchanged, or forged after rehabilitation, self discovery, and a personal change of ways following the war. The majority of these characters will likely find themselves within one of the Good alignments.
Revolutionary members often aid in rescue missions, as well as the general defense of endangered runaways, whenever possible- however, they themselves are still citizens. Some make their presence proudly known, while others choose to stay subtle about their part in the cause. In any case, however, Revolutionary members are still ordinary citizens, and are still known to hold jobs and occupations as they would have prior to the war.
Perk: Scavenging missions are fruitful enough, so members of this faction will receive a payout of 20 Vhan at the beginning of each week!
The pinnacle of scientific discovery, as well as the most infamous and feared organization known within the current day; the Phenomenon is led by Yong Seok Vincent Arcken - more commonly known amongst the public as 'The Director' - as well as his right hand men; Maxim Bychkov, and Takeshi Tatsukami. The aforementioned three are the primary poles of support and power within the modern Phenomenon itself, and are further supported by their arrangement of 'Elite' soldiers; or, in other words, devoted and loyal members of the Phenomenon that have exceeded the bounds of performance and strength alike. While the Phenomenon hosts a large variety of common soldiers, scientists, and otherwise that offer their skills to their own cause, the Elites (staff played) are the more renowned of the Phenomenon ranks aside from the three men in charge themselves; known for their tenacity, as well as their ability to strike as much fear and anxiety within the hearts of the citizens. They are often known by the public not by their birth names, but rather, their appearances, as well as their Phenomenon aliases- which will hold more and more significance and representation of mythological characters within the higher ranks.
While known to roam the streets of Serenity and Solace during their free time - so when they happen to be off active duty - they hold no sort of occupations aside from their ranks within the Phenomenon. Many of these members are skilled within combat, tracking, and scientific knowledge, alongside many other factors of the sort. Contrasting greatly to the other factions, they also hold greater and easier access to technology of most sorts due to their arsenal of supplies and other things of the sort.
Characters within the Phenomenon will likely be known under some sort of Evil alignment, but lower ranking members could possibly be viable for the Neutral alignment, as well, due to their potentially questionable loyalty.
Perk: Members have easier access to type technology. Type-oriented purchases are 20% off in the IC shop!
The faction that represents neutrality for the most part; the Underground had been founded by the remaining son of one of the Phenomenon's main leaders after he himself had managed to escape the laboratories. The Underground had been started by Akihiko Drake Tatsukami, though he claims to hold no role of power as 'leader', or otherwise. Much like how the Revolution is a home and refuge for runaways, the Underground plays a similar role, but for the most part, its members prefer to hold a much more subtle - if not completely discreet and unnoticed - role within the public. On occasion, they are known to collaborate actively with the Revolution in order to intercept the occasional runaway chase, transport, or otherwise in order to gather new members and supplies, but for the most part, they act within a rather independent manner. As such, most members are often Lawful within their ways, or - if they aren't - are at least extremely discreet and careful within their actions for sake of not attracting attention to themselves.
The Underground has no explicit hierarchy of ranks; holding a distinct representation of the meaning of equality. They, too, are simple citizens. In fact, the majority of these members hold occupations of some sort in order to keep their identities discreet, as well as to continue as normally as they possibly can despite the state of ruin, so Underground members with jobs and even homes would be far from odd.
Perk: While not nearly as sketchy as you'd think people apart of a group called 'The Underground' would be, you still have your way about connections and the like. Purchases in the IC shop - with the exception of Type-related purchases, due to the Phenomenon's perks - will be 20% off! Enjoy your new home! Or your...plastic surgery (read: faceclaim change). Or whatever else you got your discount on. We don't judge.
The citizens of Serenity and Solace; these characters will vary in various senses. Some may be runaways. Some may be completely untouched by the Phenomenon's experiments. Some may be criminals, police officers, or whatever other occupation that they find an interest within. Truth be told, the list of what the citizens 'are' could go on and on for days, but these are the people who are simply intending to live their own, normal lives without any other intentions. Living nowadays is hard; especially when they know that many of their movements and actions could be watched at any giving time. It's anxiety-driving, but nevertheless, still choose to live as peacefully and normally as they can.
Perk: Paychecks are somewhat easier with their lifestyles, so they get rewarded for a job well done- and even when they're not, those who run the republics are generous enough to lend financial aid. Upon completing a thread, faction members will receive 20 additional Vhan, rather than the standard 15 Vhan.
Each faction also has their own perks, so look into that, too!
